Ideally, everything we do for our face, neck and décolleté we would also do for all of our skin from head to toe.  However, this can become cost prohibitive quickly as many of the products with high percentages of active ingredients have high prices.  But our skin needs love all over.

As with the face, neck and décolleté the  most important product is sunscreen.  There are a myriad of sunscreens on the market and finding the right one is worth our while.  I’ve mentioned Elta MD products in other posts and without a doubt my favorite sunscreens for the body are from this line.  Their Broad Spectrum SPF 30+ lotion has 7% zinc oxide, antioxidants and is moisturizing.  This is a great everyday sunscreen for exposed areas.  For more active days or when there is more sweating or water activity they also have a water/sweat resistant Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 50 with 9% zinc oxide.   I also love their Elta MD UV Broad Spectrum SPF 31 Lip Balm.  It has 5% zinc oxide, antioxidants and is water resistant for 80 minutes.  All of the Elta MD products are made with transparent zinc oxide, are noncomedogenic, sensitivity-free, fragrance free and paraben free.

Another brand with a  great rejuvenative line for the skin of the body is Environ.  Specifically, they have two products which work synergistically together to help repair skin.  Derma-Lac Lotion is a neutralized lactic acid based body lotion that can be used all over to help rejuvenate the skin.  It is “active” and some people need to build up the use over time to minimize irritation.  We have seen dramatic results here at Toccare.  Ideally the Derma-Lac is used in conjunction with one of their antioxidant body oils.  The Vitamin A,C & E Enhanced Body Oil is what we recommend.  Over time the combination of these two products helps with improving sun damage, stretch marks, scars and improved skin laxity.

Don’t skimp on caring for your skin and don’t under estimate the damage you can repair with the use of active topical products.
